Voluntary long-term disability insurance replaces a portion of you income if you are unable to work for an extended period of time due to a serious disability (e.g. a back injury or a chronic illness such as cancer).
The disability benefit helps you pay for everyday expenses such as mortgage, rent/utilityes, childcare, or groceries.
Long-term disability at a glance
- Pays up to 60% of you pre-disability earnings (up to $5,000 per month in increments of $100)
-Rehabilitation benefit- you may return to work part-time and still receive benefits
- Guaranteed issue amoutns are abailable
-Convenient payroll deduction through AFSCME Local 685 LA County Probation Officers' Union. Union membership is not required.
